Old BP gets new owner, reopens

Thursday, August 7, 2008

The old BP gas station on Indianapolis Road, in Greencastle, across from Pizza Hut is now open and will soon have its Marathon sign, the owner told the Banner Graphic earlier this week.

It shares the same owner as the Marathon that is located on north Jackson Street in Greencastle.

The grand opening for the new station is set for this Friday. That's when the new sign is supposed to arrive.

It is believed that another gas station on the east side of town may help alleviate gas prices slightly due to increased competition.

Competitive pricing is often used when a large number of similar businesses are geographically concentrated.

  • Another station may help alleviate gas prices? Give me a break! That's what they said when Gas America came in. Greencastle will continue to have the highest gas prices in the area --- take it to the bank!

  • Why didn't it make it the first time around? Did you ever think about that? Same owner huh? I don't go to the other one so I won't be going to this one.
