Jo Anne Gearlds

Jo Anne Gearlds, 85, of Poland, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born July 30, 1923, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Rufus Joseph and Mary Ellen (Gross) Pulley. She married Ray Gearlds on June 10, 1973.

Mrs. Gearlds was a payroll clerk for Richardson Rubber Co. in Indianapolis and was a member of Jordan Village Presbyterian Church, Jordan Village, Area 10 RSVP and past president of Central Indiana Beagle Club.

Survivors include her husband, of Poland; a daughter, Sandra Forehand and husband John, of Indianapolis; sons, Charles Hess and wife Jerry, of Dunnellon, Fla., and Phillip Hargis and wife Sandra, of Indianapolis; a step-son, Howard Gearlds and wife Bonnie, of Indianapolis; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Brother A.J. Cox officiating. Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
