LEBANON -- Greencastle boys' soccer defeated host Lebanon Thursday 3-1.

The Tiger Cubs dominated play for the first 15 minutes of the opening half, however it was Lebanon that struck first. Freshman Tyler Renten came off the bench to score with 22:46 remaining in the half, putting Lebanon ahead 1-0.

"It was a good timed run from the midfield through our back line. (Goalie) Ryan (Payne) got caught when he started to come up and Renten hit a nice shot over his head," GHS coach Dave Lilly said.

The Tiger Cubs evened the score five minutes later when freshman Sonney Basham delivered a long pass to senior Griffin Moore, who hit a low shot past Lebanon's keeper Matt Day. The score remained tied 1-1 at the break.

Greencastle took the lead with just over five minutes played in the second half and never looked back. Spencer Moore fired a shot past Day, assisted by David Cath.

With 19:30 to play, Sophomore Jesse Elkins finished on a crossing pass from Greg Lilly clinching the win for the Tiger Cubs.

In JV action, the Tiger Cubs won 2-0 in 40 minutes. Jesse Elkins scored at 29:42 and Mitchell Robinson scored on a corner kick with 23:53 left to play.

GHS will be back in action Tuesday when it plays host to Crawfordsville.
