Blue Door owners Kate Durham and Dennis Furr are planning a Celebration of Arts Festival in honor of the coffee house's first birthday Saturday, August 30.
With a portion of the benefits going to United Way, the daylong event features a sidewalk artist in front of the restaurant and an all day music venue featuring 12 groups inside the Blue Door Café.
Artists will be displaying their work and selling it from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Musicians will perform from 9 a.m. to Midnight. Musical entertainers include: Kevin Crafton, Doug Cox, Al Stelk, The Fret Set, Mary Michael, Sam Lowe, Anthony Mullis, Jascha, Saturday Shoes, The Mongrel Dogs, Chip Porter and Bandit the Hero Heart.
Exhibiting artists are Dennis Boothby, Barba Fuson, Kace Huber, Clint Maddox, Rajean Gallagher, Woody, Karen Moore, Marla Helton, Stuart Fabe and others.
The Blue Door will also offer beer and wine on Saturday and half price non-alcoholic drinks.
