Cougars lose at home

ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam girls' soccer team was unable to answer back to the Southmont Mounties two quick goals in the first half.

The first goal was scored by Southmont's Brooke Nace early in the first half. The second came one minute later by senior forward Faith Ayers of the Mounties.

The Cougar defense stepping up the Mounties were unable to score in the second half. Even with the efforts of the defense, the Cougars were unable to get anything passed the great ball control of the Southmont Mounties.

Dakota Malayer had 14 saves on 16 attempts on goal.

When approached after the game, North Putnam head coach Willie Gaskins refused comment.

North Putnam will travel to Danville on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
