Cougar volleyball loses to Eminence
ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam volleyball team fell to Eminence in four games Tuesday night, 26-24, 26-28, 25-23, 25-19.
With a team that is both small and young, Coach Jill Schreiber knows her squad has more potential, but also remains patient with the learning process.
"We are struggling with playing to our opponent's level," Schreiber said. "We need to learn to play our game and learn to make adjustments to our defense during the game. We know the coverage.
"We did not play to our full potential last night. The girls know it and I know it," she added. "We are young and still learning adjustments in a game. We will get there. We are playing one short this week, and to us that makes a big difference."
Taylor Alles led the Cougars up front, picking up 10 kills, one solo block and five stuff assists. Megan Gray had 18 assists.
Logan Doyle was 23-for-24 serving with four aces. She also had 11 digs.
The Cougar JV came through to win its first match of the year on Tuesday.
"I would like to congratulate the junior varsity for their win," Schreiber said. "They played hard and really fought to win the match. The JV is young, however they are improving with each game."
The Cougars host South Putnam at 6 p.m. today.
