Judith Young

Judith "Judy" Young, 71, Brazil, passed away at 10:30 p.m., Sept. 3, 2008, at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, following a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Ashboro, Ind., to Clayton and Pauline (Nichols) Carter.

On Feb. 3, 1953, she married Grover Dean Young.

While raising her family, she spent most of her time as a mom and housewife. As her children grew, she began working outside of the home at Columbia Records, Terre Haute, and as a home health aid at Waldorf Home Health Care, Brazil.

In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting dolls and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Delores "Dee" Raab, brother in infancy Dennis Keiffer Carter, and great-grandson Matthew Dillon Harris Torbert.

Survivors include her husband Grover, brother Paul Carter and wife Anita, Indianapolis, children Dean Young and wife Lynn, Brazil, Judy Bigge and husband Henry, Evansville, Cindy Hill and husband Robert, Brazil, Dan Young and wife Lori, Brazil, Molly McKenzie and husband Gary, Carbon, Glenda Hicks, Brazil, and Andy Young, Brazil, grandchildren Mandy Dees, Anthony Young, Deana Young, Christina Young, Adam Bigge, Alysia Bigge, Aaron Bigge, Alexandria Bigge, Austin Bigge, Tessa Harvey, Melissa Hill, Tiffany Torbert, Corey Young, Christopher Young, Cody Young, ChCarra Jones, Cayla Yockey, Bruce McKenzie, Donivan Dove, Devon Dove, Ashlyn Young, Andy Young, and Jisella Young, great-grandchildren Michael Kerzan, Kaden Young, Shayleigh Young, Xavier Bigge, Gabriel Bigge, Levi Bigge, Grant Ferry, Landon Hill, Isaac Torbert, Daelyn Torbert, Hayden Gillespie, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Croys Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 p.m., and again Monday from 7:30 a.m. until time of services.
