Friends of the Park plans fundraiser

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

The Friends of the Park (FotP) are sponsoring a double elimination co-ed softball tournament as a fundraiser on Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Robe-Ann Park, Greencastle

The tournament fees will help pay for the organization's summer programs and Red Ribbon Week. There will be food available from the Friends of the Park including hamburgers, hot dogs, coney dogs, sloppy Joes, Pepsi products, water, lemonade and other items.

A field of 10-12 teams will play for double elimination with a one-hour time limit on each game. Cost per team is $120. Teams must be registered and paid in full by Oct. 1.

The winning team will receive individual glass plate awards designed by FotP Volunteers. All participants will receive an appreciation certificate.

Positions in the field will be governed by ASA rules and must bat an alternating lineup of eight, 10 or 12 players. The scheduled time is game time and after game number eight teams must be ready to play as the field becomes available. Game balls will be provided.

For additional information or to register, call Dianna Gorrell at 765-435-2813 or email Diana@friendsoftheparkrusellville.org

Is this the Greencastle Friends of the Park sponsoring this?
