GHS strong against Braves
The Greencastle girls' golf team turned in its best home performance all season Monday, falling to Terre Haute South 181-222 at Windy Hill.
Greencastle coach Brad Kingma wants to see his team carry this momentum into Thursday's County Tournament at Clover Meadows and Saturday's sectional meet at Forest Park.
"This was our best performance at Windy Hill this year by 13 strokes," Kingma said. "Hopefully this will continue the improvement we've been showing as we go into county and sectionals later this week."
Chelsea Samuels led the Tiger Cub effort with a 46. Katie Hedge was next with a 57. Kristen Hutcheson fired a 58, and Diane Wokoun added a 61. Kay Wood also had an 82 for GHS.
Greencastle visits Cloverdale at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for the Putnam County Tournament.
