Friday, September 26, 2008

CLAYTON-- The Greencastle girls' cross country team had a dominating performance Wednesday night at Cascade placing five runners in the top ten.

Greencastle defeated Owen Valley 27-51. The Cadets and Tri-West fielded incomplete teams. No results were available for the boys' team.

Greencastle runners improving since their last time running at the Cascade Invitational were Sara Culler, Kaitlyn Murtagh, Olivia Humphreys, Ivonne Martinez and Brittany Johnson. Humphreys and Johnson had time drops of over two minutes each.

"This is good to see in such a short time from the last meet," said coach Garry Anderson. "Olivia and Brittany are really working hard in practice and the results are showing. Sara Culler ran a nice race to finish first over challenger Justine Weatherman from Cascade."
