GMS sweeps SPJH in cross country

The Greencastle Middle School boys' and girls' cross country team swept the South Putnam Junior High boys' and girls' team Tuesday night.

The girls' team beat South Putnam 26-29.

Top finishers for the Tiger Cubs were Colleen Weatherford finishing with a time of 13:01. Next was Alex Stoffregan with a time of 13:20. Abigail Wilson finished fifth with a time of 13:59. The Tiger Cubs Kayla Cash finished seventh with a time of 14:07. And Corrine Trigg rounded out the top ten for the Tiger Cubs finishing tenth with a time of 14:37.

The Eagles had five runners place in the top ten. Finishing second was Mallory Glaze with a time of 13:17. Lyndsie Beasley finished fourth with a time of 13:58. Finishing sixth for the Eagles was Kaelynn Cox with a time of 14:04. Maddie Egold finished eighth with 14:25. And Ariel Higgins finished ninth with a time of 14:30.

The boys' team beat the Eagles 27-32.

Finishing first for the Tiger Cubs was Tyler Hudson with a time of 12:00. The next finisher for the Tiger Cubs was Erik Norlin finishing fifth with a time of 12:54. Alex Asbell finished next at sixth place with a 13:00 time. Getting seventh for the Tiger Cubs was Alec Davis with a time of 13:01. Matthew White finished eighth with a time of 13:18. Next was Nathan Semak in ninth with a 13:27 time. And finishing out the top ten was Daniel Carrillo with a time of 13:34.

The Eagles had three runners finish in the top ten. Getting second was Hunter Barr with a time of 12:02. Evan Potts finished third with a time of 12:20. And Larry Hurst finished third with a 12:35 time.
