At an earlier Fillmore Town Council meeting this year, Council President Jeff Osborn explained to residents that the town went to the Emergency Management (911) asking what they needed to do to be in compliance.
"Several address in town that are difficult for emergency personnel to locate may have to change," explained Osborn at that meeting.
At last Thursday nights town council meeting the group explained that Council member Alan Jones had a number of addresses that needed clarification.
Jones will be discussing those addresses with the county Plat office and 911.
Jones commented that at a recent meeting held for residents to check their addresses only three people showed up.
"I was surprised. I thought more people would want to know if their address was changing," he said.
The Council also decided that the town has two street names that need to change and now was a good time to make that happen.
One street they are sure will change is C.R. 475 which runs through the city limits.
"It's a county road running into town. We need to change that," commented Osborn.
Anyone interested in knowing if his or her address will change can contact Fillmore Town Hall.

I live on 475E and I think the town board needs worry about the problems that need to be fixed and not this. The county dispatch would have no problem finding my house or any other house on 475E. Your city limits are only on the East side of this road, what are you going to do, make one side of the road a street name and the other a county road? This is stupid!! Leave it alone
Half of county road 475 E is in the city limits the other half is in the county.
C.R. 475 is out side city limits you dumb dumbs!!! The town board needs to get a handle on there bills befor they go changeing street names.
