Letter to the Editor

Younger players are important too

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

To the Editor:

My son is is a 7th grade football player for South Putnam Junior High School. He is always looking in the paper for any mention of their accomplishments on the field when they play, but for some reason there is never anything in there.

Why is this? Are they not as important as the varsity players? You know, in three years they will be the varsity team, and they try just as hard and sometimes even harder than the varsity team, but never a mention about them.

I, as a parent, think this is wrong.

By the way, they have only lost one game this year.

I think that is very good, and last year when they played as a sixth grade team they were undefeated.
