DePauw women's soccer splits weekend matches

Rhodes College's Diana Buss scored on Allison Price's assist at 71:42 and lifted the 17th-ranked Lynx to a 1-0 win over DePauw women's soccer at Boswell Field Sunday.

DePauw dropped to 4-6-2 overall and 3-2 in the SCAC, while Rhodes improved to 10-2-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference.

The Tigers outshot Rhodes, 11-7, while Rhodes held a 3-1 advantage in corners. Becca Clarin posted the shutout in goal for the Lynx.

DePauw scored a pair of first-half goals and defeated Hendrix, 2-1, in an SCAC game at Boswell Field Friday.

Hendrix slipped to 4-6 overall and 1-5 in SCAC play.

Katy Phillips put the Tigers on the board first at 10:53 with an assist from Lauren Hannan before Bridget Coleman scored, unassisted, later in the half to give DePauw at 2-0 halftime advantage.

Hendrix's Michelle Story cut the lead in half at 58:02 with an assist from Kate Burnett, but the Tigers were able to hold on for the win.

DePauw outshot Hendrix, 15-8, while Hendrix held a 4-3 edge in corners. Lauren Palgrey and Christy Fillenwarth split time in goal for the Tigers, while allison Mosley recorded three saves for the Warriors and Leslie Levin had one as each played one half also.

The Tigers return to action on Sunday, October 12, when they host Rhodes at 2 p.m.

DePauw returns to action on Friday, October 17, at the University of Dallas and is back in SCAC action on October 19 at Austin College.
