Tiger men's soccer extends unbeaten streak

Mike Harris delivered the game-winning goal in the second overtime as DePauw men's soccer remained unbeaten in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 1-0 win over visiting Rhodes on Sunday.

DePauw improved to 8-1-3 with the win and 4-0-1 in the SCAC, while Rhodes dropped to 7-4-1 overall and 3-4 in the conference.

Harris' fourth straight game winner at 101:51 and gave the Tigers their fifth straight victory and extended their streak of unbeaten games to eight straight. With the win, DePauw also assured itself of the program's 27th consecutive .500 or better season.

DePauw outshot Rhodes 11-7 and held an 8-4 edge in corners. Ted Jacobi recorded six saves as the Tigers posted their eighth shutout of the season. Alex Margolin finished with five saves for the Lynx.

On Friday, Harris nailed a penalty kick at 53:27 for the game's only goal as DePauw defeated Hendrix 1-0 in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at Boswell Field.

Hendrix dropped to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

The Tigers outshot Hendrix 14-9 and held a 6-4 advantage in corners. DePauw's Ted Jacobi notched the Tigers' seventh shutout of the year and finished with three saves. Adam Legg totaled four saves for the Warriors.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, October 17, for an SCAC contest at Colorado College.
