Charles McCarty

Charles F. McCarty, 86, of Bainbridge, died Sunday at Wishard Memorial Hospital, Indianapolis.

He was born in Fountainette on Sept. 30, 1922, the son of Carl and Mildred Benight McCarty. He drove a truck for Spector Freight Systems for 31 years and was also a self-employed truck driver.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the former Groveland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife Doris Blalock McCarty; son David McCarty, of Bainbridge; daughter Linda Everts and husband Stanley, of Danville; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Charles W. McCarty, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville. Burial will be at Bainbridge Cemetery.
