DePauw women fall, men tie in soccer action at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE -- The DePauw soccer teams traveled to Rose-Hulman Wednesday night with the two teams seeing mixed results. The Tiger women fell to the Engineers, while the men's match ended in a scoreless tie.

The DePauw women led host Rose, 2-0, with 20 minutes remaining, but the Engineers' Molly Richardson scored a hat trick in a span of just over eight minutes in a 3-2 win over the Tigers.

Abby Gerwin scored just 3:36 into the contest and Kristen McMahon added the Tigers' secnod goal at 63:26.

Richardson's first score came at 71:23 with the tying scoring coming on Annmarie Stanley's assist at 78:53. Richardson's final and game-winning score came just 35 seconds later.

DePauw outshout Rose-Hulman, 17-15, while the Engineers held a 6-5 edge in corners.

Lauren Palfrey recorded five saves for the Tigers and Julie Brennan had three for Rose-Hulman.

The Tigers dropped to 5-9-2 on the season, while Rose-Hulman improved to 11-6. DePauw travels to Wheaton on Saturday evening.

For the ment, the Tigers and Engineers battled through 110 minutes of play to a 0-0 tie. The Tigers are 8-3-5 on the season, while the Engineers are 11-4-3.

Rose-Hulman outshot DePauw, 10-3, and held an 8-1 edge in corners.

DePauw's Ted Jacobi totaled five saves in posting the shutout, while Rose-Hulman's Isaac Heyveld finished with two.

DePauw host Southwestern on Friday, November 7.
