Putnam County Jail

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department has made several arrests.

Marcelino Perez, 28, Greencastle, was booked at 6:07 p.m. Wednesday for operating per se and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Terry Crist, 48, Cloverdale, was booked at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana, reckless driving, operating while intoxicated and with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater. Crist was also charged with public intoxication.

Christopher P. Loughmiller, 23, Brazil, was booked at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation.

Jack A. Taylor, 39, Cloverdale, was booked at 10:21 p.m. Wednesday for conversion.

Douglas L. Boler, 50, Brazil, was booked at 12:44 a.m. Thursday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

David Gould, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 2:24 a.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana and reckless possession of paraphernalia.

Kelsey Patterson, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 11:41 a.m. Thursday for theft and forgery.

Scott McCord, 31, Paragon, was booked at 12:57 p.m. Thursday for probation violation.

Sheriff's Department

Three accidents were reported to the Sheriff's Department on Wednesday.

Ellen Shugars of Greencastle, pulled over on the south side of U.S. 40 at 3:38 p.m. to check her mail. She then proceeded to make a left turn across U.S. 40 and did not see Taylor Cooper. Cooper was unable to avoid a collision and hit the rear driver's side of Shugars' vehicle.

Cathy Lairmore of Fillmore was northbound on CR 50 N. in Fillmore, and stopped for a stop sign. Lairmore did not see Diane Smith of Fillmore, who was traveling northbound on Main Street. Lairmore proceeded into the intersection and hit Smith's vehicle.

Matthew Champagne of Greencastle was traveling westbound on Edgelea Drive and attempting to turn left onto U.S. 231. Rebecca Bumgardner of Bloomington was northbound on U.S. 231. Champagne proceeded into the intersection and into the path of Bumgardner, who swerved to avoid a collision. Bumgardner is six months pregnant and complained of back pain. Operation Life Ambulance transported her to Putnam Count Hospital. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.
