The Greencastle Gray Major League team won the 2008 Super Bowl with a 16-6 win over South Putnam.

Greencastle started the game with a humbling experience. After a 40 yard drive from Greencastle to the goal line, a South Putnam picked off a pass, running it back 99 yards for a South Putnam touchdown. South missed their extra point giving them a 6-0 lead.

Greencastle responded when its line took over and drove 60 yards for the go-ahead score by Brandon Gierke on a 15-yard dive play. Tanner Nicholson followed up with the two-point kick.

Greencastle started the second half in the wishbone, running power football over their line. Eventually, the South Putnam corners crashed, and Greencastle scored again with a 20-yard quarterback naked bootleg ran in by Nicholson. He followed it up with another two-point kick, making the score 16-6.

Greencastle sealed the game after South Putnam used all of its timeouts and couldn't stop the clock.

Greencastle's defense, which has been dominant all year, held South Putnam to just two first downs.

The entire Greencastle team contributed to this victory with outstanding blocking and overall effort. For the season, Greencastle outscored opponents 316-12.

South Putnam's team also deserves credit as their only two losses of the season came to Greencastle Gray.
