Chester "Gene" Allen

Chester "Gene" Allen, 79, of Cloverdale passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.

He was born Jan. 8, 1929 in Parke County. He was married to Rita Sullivan Allen

Mr. Allen was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the United Methodist Church. He was retired from Lone Star Industries.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Philip Allen and wife Kim of Wawaka and Debra Mitchell and husband Duane of Franklin; brother Sam Allen and wife Karen of Bell Union; three sisters-in-law, Kay Sullivan Oliphant of Bloomfield, Vera Sullivan Cox of Greencastle and Virginia Allen of Plainfield; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several other family members.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Paul Fulp officiating. Burial will be at Newark Cemetry in Solsberry. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
