SOMERS, Wisc. -- Competing in Division I waters at the TYR Invitational last week, Kenyon College senior swimmer Tracy Menzel produced her best efforts of the early season. Wednesday she was named by CollegeSwimming.com the Division III National Swimmer of the Week.

Menzel and the Ladies went up against Michigan State University and host Northwestern University in the three-day TYR Invitational.

On the second day of competition, Menzel zipped to a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.44. Earlier in the day, she swam the preliminary heat of the same event in 1:04.78, which was an NCAA automatic qualifying time, as well as the fastest time turned in by any Division III swimmer this season.

In other individual events, Menzel placed ninth in both the 100-yard butterfly (57.98) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.17). Both of those times cleared NCAA 'B' cut standards.

Menzel is a 2005 graduate of Greencastle High School.
