A few minor accidents reported from the slick roads Putnam County motorists experienced Monday.

Justin Williams, Cottontown, Tenn., was traveling south on an access road approaching Stardust Road when he attempted to brake, but the vehicle would not stop due to slick road conditions. Williams' vehicle slid into the side of a vehicle driven by Floyd Simmons, Chattanooga, Tenn., who was traveling west. Williams' vehicle was driven from the scene. Simmons' vehicle was towed by Steele's Towing. The accident occurred at 7:04 a.m. Monday. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Janette Ulrey, Poland, was traveling south on U.S. 231 at 4:50 p.m. Monday, when she lost control of her vehicle due to ice on a bridge. Her vehicle traveled off the roadway, striking a guardrail and power pole. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Lori Atkinson, Middletown, was traveling east on I-70 at 5:04 p.m. Monday, when her vehicle slid off the road and into a gulley due to ice. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Stephanie Smith, Indianapolis, was traveling east on I-70 at 5:04 p.m. Monday, when her vehicle slid off the road and into a gulley due to ice. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Garbrielle McCammack, Coatesville, was traveling north on S.R. 243 approaching the intersection of County Road 1000 E or Burma Road at 8:25 p.m. Monday, when she lost control of her vehicle due to ice on the roadway. Her vehicle traveled through the intersection, into a yard, striking a parked vehicle and house. The accident report stated the stop sign at the intersection was missing due to a previous accident. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Phillip Alig, Reelsville, was traveling west on U.S. 40 at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 24, when his attention was diverted to the inside of his vehicle causing it to travel through the median, across the eastbound lane, strike a guardrail and a bridge wall. The vehicle came to rest in the median. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Putnam County Jail

Three individuals were booked into the Putnam County Jail Tuesday and Wednesday.

Jeffrey Bettis, 46, Cloverdale, was booked at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday for probation violation.

Thomas Schultheis, 42, Cloverdale was booked at 9:09 p.m. Tuesday for failure to appear.

Aisha Newman, 27, Indianapolis, was booked at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday for driving with a suspended or revoked license.
