Icy road conditions still giving Putnam County motorist's headaches.

John Pyle, Carmi, Ill., was traveling west on U.S. 40 at 6:03 p.m. Monday, when he swerved to miss an object in the roadway. Several witnesses advised Pyle appeared to be swerving to miss something. Pyle could not regain control of his vehicle after traveling into the median. Curtises Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

Brian Butler, Greencastle, was traveling north on County Road 600 E at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, when a deer struck the right-front fender, front bumper and hood of his vehicle. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Audrey Timm, Reelsville, was traveling west on U.S. 40 at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, when she lost control of her vehicle and slide off the road into a ditch due to icy road conditions. No injuries were reported at the scene. AAA towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

James Willis, Terre Haute, was traveling east on U.S. 40 at 5:43 p.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions. The vehicle crossed the median and went over on the driver's side on the north side of the road. It then came to rest upright in the median. Willis and his passenger were taken to Clay County Hospital. Willis sustained minor cuts on his head and was experiencing neck pain. His passenger was experiencing rib pains. Seniours Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Bret Helm, Carmel, was traveling east on I-70 at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions. The vehicle flipped and came to rest on its top. No injuries were reported at the scene. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Putnam County Jail

Two individuals were booked into the Putnam County Jail Tuesday for probation violations.

Crystal Curry, 29, Indianapolis was booked at 2:57 p.m.

Kevin Bain, 23, Cloverdale was booked at 4:01 p.m.
