Salting for the Storm

Friday, December 19, 2008

Wade Vance and Randy Rogers were preparing for problems with ice and snow Thursday afternoon at Putnam County Hospital. The two men work for Spiker Excavating and were salting the parking lots at the hospital around 3 p.m. in anticipation of bad weather heading in.

  • Does the hospital have their own maintenance crew and just how much does it cost to have Spiker come in and throw some salt. I'll do it for 50.00 and that includes the cost of the salt. At least Spiker will have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!

  • I think it is great that the hospital uses every means available to keep the walks and drives clear for us, otherwise there would be a story about how they were too cheap to salt and then you would be complaining about that!
