The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Thursday, January 15, 2009
Putnam County Highway Department crews were out salting and sanding all day Wednesday as the county got hit with several inches of snow. Mark Subser with the highway department was using a frontloader to mix salt and sand as county trucks pulled in to reload and head back out.

DePauw Student Alex Ronan didn't let a little snow bother her as she headed home on the DePauw Campus Wednesday afternoon. The county was hit by several inches of snow as well as bone-chilling temperatures.

  • Thank you Mr. Murry Pride. It is COLD out there and I am glad you decided to close school today. It is to cold to have children standing out waiting on a bus. I also want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I hate to see you retire. You have done a wonderful job. You really care about the students, have always attended the different activities in the schools and have great morals. And besides that, you have the nicest wife! She cares about the students as much as you do. What ever you do after retirement, enjoy it. And I think the board will be sorry they let you slip away!
