Richard W. Talbott

Richard W. "Dick" Talbott, 77, of Appleton, Wis. died peacefully on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.

He was born June 22, 1931 in Greencastle, the son of the late Harrold and Dorothy Williams Talbott. He graduated from High School in Elkhart. He then received his BS in marketing from Indiana University. During college he was enrolled in ROTC and upon graduating he entered the U.S. Army as an officer.

Mr. Talbott started his career in insurance in Grand Rapids, Mich., and then worked in Lansing. Mich., Albany, NY and finally in Gainesville, Fla. He also had earned his CPCU during his career.

He was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Gainesville and a former Elks member in Lansing. He enjoyed baseball and playing golf.

Survivors include his son, Tim Talbott and wife Christie of Menasha, Wis.; three grandchildren, Allyson Jeske, Benjamin Talbott and Zachary Talbott; and a brother, James Talbott and wife Jean.

A graveside service will be held in spring at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
