Raymond Booker, 84, of Roachdale died at Hendricks Regional Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009.

He was born March 15, 1924 to Clarence and Edith Booker.

Mr. Booker retired from General Motors Allison in 1977 after 30 years in skilled trades. He was also part owner of Booker's Red Dog in North Salem and he cut timber. He was a member of the Murat Shrine, F. & A.M. 126 N.S. and the Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Mildred Martin Booker, daughter Pam Saunders and husband Ron, granddaughter Danielle King, grandson David Bachert, great-grandchildren Kira and Kasandra King, sisters Lavonne Abel and Esther Joan Doan and brother George Harold.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Rae Bachert, sisters Vera Brewster and Maxine Carrington Ashcraft and brothers Donald, Dick, Lowell and Dan Booker.

The calling will be Thursday from noon to 2 p.m., with the service following. Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery.
