David E. Duell, 74, of Reelsville died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at the Waters of Greencastle.
Born March 8, 1934 in Brazil, he was the son of David R. and Annabelle Roberts Duell. He was a 1953 graduate of Reelsville High School and had attended DePauw University. He married Donna Jean Gaddis on Oct. 25, 1968 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 2000.
Mr. Duell had been a manager in the shipping department at IBM from 1959 to 1987. After his retirement, he worked as a security guard with Hoffa Security. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War and a member of Masonic Lodge #132 Cloverdale.
Survivors include his children, Judy Covey and husband Jim of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Jack Mace and wife Mary Jane of Greencastle, John Mace and wife Rhonda of Fillmore, Jerry Mace and wife Lois of Cedar Hill, Texas, Jan Mace of Greencastle, Jean Spears and husband Rick of Clayton, Jeff Mace and wife Tracy of Greencastle and Jim Mace and wife Christa of Grand Prairie, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and an infant sister.
A Masonic Lodge Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with funeral services to follow with the Rev. Steve Blaydes officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.
