Russell V. Green, 79, of Bainbridge died at The Waters of Greencastle on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1930 in Indianapolis to William Herman and Lola Taylor Green.

Mr. Green was a Mason for more than 50 years, belonging to Kentucky/Indiana Local No. 4. He was in the Navy during Korea and lived for 25 years in Bainbridge where he served on the town board for two years. He was a deacon at the Clinton Falls Community Church and enjoyed his church, fishing and hunting after retirement.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years Marilyn; 11 children, Zane and wife Cheryl of Murphy, N.C., LaDonna and husband Mike, Colen and wife Judy of Rotunda, Fla., Gail and husband Jerry of Frankfort, Chuck and wife Sheila of Clinton Falls, Eric of South Venice, Fla., Debra and husband Dale, Jim and wife Melissa, and Mike of Kalamazoo, Mich., Jack and wife Kathy of Texas Corners, Mich. and Kathy of Bainbridge; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Neil of Bainbridge and Leslie of Roachdale; sisters Kathy Blau of Clinton Falls, Colleen Fly of Indianapolis, Sue Detro of Greencastle and Barbara Ross of Indianapolis and Norma Martin of Greencastle.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters Louise Brown, Ruth Pond and Wilma Cooper; and brothers Richard Green, Carl Ray Green, Herbert Green and Lowell Leon Green.

Services will be Saturday at Clinton Falls Community Church at 10 a.m. with Pastor Kelso "Buck" Martin officiating. Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery.
