ROACHDALE -- At 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, Indiana State Police responded to a one vehicle crash on C.R. 675 East approximately one half mile north of C.R. 700 North.

Preliminary investigation revealed that George M. Robertson, 63, of Roachdale was driving his 2003 Chevrolet pickup southbound on C.R. 675 just north of C.R. 700 North and for an unknown reason went off the east side of the road and struck a utility pole with the right front of the vehicle.

Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Thomas Miller.

Investigators are waiting the results of an autopsy to possibly determine if a medical emergency was a contributing factor in the crash. Myers stated the seatbelt was not in use.

Investigating Officers were Sergeant Cory Robinson, Trooper Heath Kerns and Trooper John Myers of the Indiana State Police.

Assisting Agencies included the Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Roachdale Fire Department, Roachdale Town Marshall and Putnam County Coroner's Office.
