Putnam County Museum hosts seminar

Thursday, February 26, 2009

On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., the Putnam County Museum will host the presentation "Historic Properties: Everything you wanted to know about the history of your house, but didn't know whom to ask."

This one-hour workshop will address the following questions: What is the National Register? What is the impact of the National Register Listing? What are some historic areas and properties in Putnam County? What are the local resources available for researching the history of my property? You will also have the opportunity to connect with other persons who are knowledgeable and interested in the history of Putnam County.

Workshop presenters include Tommy Kleckner with the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana and Sue Harmon with Archives at the Putnam County Library. The event is sponsored by the Putnam County Museum, the Heritage Preservation Society and the Putnam County Community Foundation.

The mission of the Putnam County Museum is to collect, preserve and interpret the natural, historical, and cultural heritage and life of the county, and to benefit the community through education, exhibits and special programs.
