ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) of Indiana, Putnam County recently presented a check to Putnam County Family Support Services to assist with their Victims of Domestic Violence Prevention program. Last fall, Putnam County and nearby counties comprising Region 6 of ABATE of Indiana organized a ride to raise money and awareness for the program. Elizabeth Butts accepted the $540 check and said that the money will be used for emergency needs for victims of Domestic Violence. Pictured from left are Melissa Russel (ABATE), Donna Freeman (ABATE), Butts (Family Support Services), Dan Stockton (ABATE) and Glenna Cheesman (Family Support Services). The Domestic Violence program helps victims of domestic violence find safe shelter as well as developing safety plans and assisting with support groups.
