Putnam County Jail
Steven Stryjewski, 27, Hudson, Fla., was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday for probation violation.
Robert Coop, 38, Westfield, was booked at 1:34 a.m. Wednesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Cody Sims, 23, Fillmore, was booked at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Clifford Simpson, 51, Beech Grove, was booked at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation.
Christina Matthews, 34, Greencastle, was booked at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation.
Greencastle Fire Department
The Greencastle Fire Department made the following runs recently.
On Tuesday at 1:51 p.m., crews were dispatched to assist Cloverdale Township Fire Department for a field fire at 7169 S. CR 75E. The crew was disregarded, but covered the township's fire station. They were back in service at 2:47 p.m.
During that time, crews were dispatched to 208 E. Olive St., but were disregarded by DePauw before arrival. They were back in service at 2:16 p.m.
On Tuesday at 3:57 p.m., crews were dispatched to 3125 S. U.S. 231 for a brush fire. In battling the fire, approximately 200 gallons of water was used by the crew. The scene was cleared at 4:50 p.m.
Crews were dispatched back to 208 E. Olive St. at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday to restore the fire alarm system.
At 8:11 p.m. Tuesday, crews were called to the Erwin Bridge area on W. Walnut Street to extinguish a controlled wild fire. CSX crews noticed the blaze and contacted the fire department. The scene was cleared at 8:55 p.m.
Crews were dispatched to 805 Crescent Drive at 11:22 p.m. Tuesday for a lift assist.
On Wednesday at 11:55 a.m., crews were dispatched to 301 E. Seminary St., due to an activation of the smoke alarm. The alarm system was restored and crews were back in service at noon.
At 1:21 p.m. Wednesday, crews were dispatched to 1205 Airport Road, where a motor vehicle accident occurred. A grain truck turned on its side causing five gallons of fuel and a large amount of ground feed to spill out. Greencastle fire crews helped the farmer clean up nearly one ton of ground feed from the scene, while Cloverdale Township fire crews battled two field fires.
