Crysta Y. Kelly 74, of Roachdale, died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana.
She was born on March 3, 1935 in Peoria, Ill. She graduated from High School in Farmington, Ill., then became an LPN and worked at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. She married Jim Kelly on Jan. 28, 1972 in Carmel. He died in 2005.
Mrs. Kelly was a member of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She was a member of the Town and Country Homemakers, the Philomath Club and had been active in the Putnam County Chorus.
She is survived by five daughters, Joy Vaughn and husband Denny of Pekin, Ill., Karen Hofmeister and husband Ryan of Sterling, Colo., Lynnda Hopper and husband Don of Washington, Ill., Carol Stephans and husband Ivan of Swanee, Ga. and Kathy Lindley and husband John of Pittsboro; two sons, David Turner and wife Connie of Brimfield, Ill. and Jonathan Kelly of Pittsboro; sister Dorenda Ledbetter of Alabama; brother Dean Kaufman; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her mother Gladys and stepfather Bruce "Doc" Kaufman, brother Bill McCullough and sister Janet Kaufman.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Servies and Morgan Funeral Home in Roachdale, with the Rev. Alan Small officiating. Cremation will follow.
Calling will be from noon until the time of service.
