Born Nov. 3, 1931 in Putnam County, he was the son of Lawrence and Madonna Rockhill Clifford. He was a 1950 graduate of Belle Union High School. He married Norma Joan Smith on Nov. 11, 1950 and she survives.
Mr. Clifford had been a farmer in Putnam County for several years. He had also been an automotive salesman with York Pontiac, Chevrolet Dealership in Greeencastle for 19 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge; Sons of the Legion; Eagles Lodge; Moose Lodge, and the Greencastle Housing Authority. He was a past president of the Putnam County Fair Board.
Survivors include his wife; children, Terry Clifford and wife Yvonne of Cloverdale, Sue Barker and husband Rod of Avon and Lannie Clifford and wife Judy of Cloverdale; seven grandchildren, Karen Clifford, Sharon Bowen, Adrianna Clifford, Becky Hines, Heather Millhorn, Lana Robinson and Jason Clifford; two step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Clifford; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kendall Hornick.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with an Elks Memorial Walk through and a Moose Lodge Service memorial service to begin at 7 p.m.
