To the Editor:

The first edition of South Putnam Community Education Foundation's version of "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader" was a great success due to the efforts of all the foundation directors, and the support of all the schools.

Special thanks go to prize donors, Teacher's Credit Union, Wal-Mart, Waldron Inn, Dr. Russell Elliott, Family Video, and the Dairy Castle.

Thanks go to Domino's Pizza for a great meal.

Darwyn Nelson portrayed Jeff Foxworthy admirably and presented Elaine Bye as the contest winner. Jill McCammack, David Mann, and Cindy Evens provided great entertainment and represented their schools well.

We also wish to thank the members of the Honor Society who helped serve pizza. Susan Sullivan did a masterful job by organizing and presenting the questions and answers for the contest via computer technology.

The SPC Education Foundation is a support organization dedicated to financially supporting the students and teachers of South Putnam. To learn more come to the annual meeting on April 17, with dinner beginning at 6 p.m., in the high school cafeteria.
