Eagle boys slip past Cascade 67-65

CLAYTON -- The South Putnam High School boys' track team edged out the Cascade Cadets, 67-65, Tuesday night.

Chris Smiley and Adam Masters led the Eagles with two wins each.

Smiley won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.3 seconds and the high jump competition, clearing a height of five-feet-four-inches.

Masters won both throwing events for the Eagles. He threw 42-feet-11-inches in the shot put and 126-feet-3-inches in the discus.

Also placing first for South Putnam was Seth Bowen. He won the 400-meter race with a time of 58.3 seconds.

In the relay events, South Putnam won the 400-meter relay with a time of 48.7 and tied with Cascade for first in the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 4:05.9

The Eagles are back in action on Thursday when they host Eminence, Baptist Academy and Lighthouse Christian at 4:30 p.m.
