Steven A. Dodd, 54, of LaVista, Neb. and formerly of Bainbridge died Sunday, April 5, 2009.
Mr. Dodd was born in Indianapolis on Jan. 8, 1955, to Jack and Alma Sheffield Dodd. He married Cindy Turner on April 4, 1992, and she survives. After his marriage, he and his wife moved to Nebraska.
He was a 1973 North Putnam graduate. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was based in Japan. Upon returning to the United States, he worked as a truck driver for many years. He then starting doing bodywork on and painting semis.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Dodd of Nebraska and Andrew and Kelly Minikus of Japan; a granddaughter, Emilyn; his mother, who resides in Greencastle; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sandy Dodd of Greencastle, Susan and Bill McMurtry of Roachdale and Sally and Doug Fowler of Bainbridge; and aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and cousins.
An infant daughter, Melissa, and his father, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins preceded him in death.
A memorial service was held in Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 9.
