North Putnam notches sixth win of season

THORNTOWN -- The North Putnam softball team moved its record to 6-1 on the season with a pair of wins over Western Boone Saturday.

In game one, the Cougars won 6-1 behind a complete game, 13 strikeout performance from Taylor Judy. Judy also provided two singles, a double and an RBI in the win.

Dakota Malayer got things off to a great start for North Putnam, putting one over the fence in the first inning. She finished the game with 2 RBIs, with Elsiana Crosby adding 2 RBIs on one single and a double.

Logan Doyle, Leah Crosby, Carlye McGaughey and Lauren Green all had singles.

The Cougars continued their dominance in the second game, winning 6-3.

Leah Crosby, Malayer and Green all had doubles, and Taylor Alles added a triple. Elsiana Crosby recorded two singles and Dakota Parent had two singles and two RBIs.

Green got the nod for the Cougars, going 4 2/3 innings and allowed two runs, six hits and three strikeouts. Judy picked up the remaining 2 1/3 with one run, two hits and four strikeouts.

The Cougars will be in action today at Cloverdale at 4:30 p.m.
