Cougars grab two from Clovers

North Putnam's softball team swept Cloverdale Wednesday, winning the first game 3-2 and the second 5-4.

The Cougars managed only two hits in the first game, but they were two huge ones.

Taylor Judy crashed a two-run home run in the first inning and Carlye McGaughey hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to get the win.

Judy went seven innings, giving up two runs and logging 10 strikeouts.

In game two, Ashley Curry went 4-for-4 with a double, with Leah Crosby adding two RBIs on a 2-for-4 performance.

Elsiana Crosby had a single and an RBI, with Lauren Green adding an RBI of her own. Mackensy Asbell and Logan Doyle added a single each.

Judy pitched another complete game, allowing five hits and 10 strikeouts.

Judy and the Cougars move to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the West Central Conference.

North Putnam will host Crawfordsville today at 5 p.m.
