John L. Davis, 75, Cloverdale, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 in Indianapolis.
He was born in Muncie on Dec. 17, 1933 to the late John W. and Orpha P. Newman Davis.
Mr. Davis was retired from the United States Air Force (OSI District 13) as a master sergeant and later was employed as a mechanic.
He married Wilma C. Stattner Davis and Aug. 13, 1955 and she survives.
Survivors also include his children Konnie Herbert and husband Chris of Cloverdale, Kristi Laxton and husband Dave of Lafayette, John K. Davis and wife Diane of Cloverdale, Louis K. Davis of Cloverdale, Kerry Davis and wife Linda of Spencer and Kevin Davis and wife Dawne of Carmel; sister Judy Wilson of Dunkirk; brother Jay Davis and wife Mary of Matthews; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Lovan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Whitaker Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
