Raymond Stephen Bussing

Raymond Stephen Bussing, 84, of Greencastle died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 5:35 a.m. at the Millpond Health Campus.

Mr. Bussing was born April 7, 1925 in Jackson Township, Clay County, the oldest of seven children born to Raymond Stephen Bussing Sr. and Marjorie Candice Fisher Bussing. He attended Annunciation B.V.M. Grade School and graduated from Brazil High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On April 20, 1968, he and Helen Louise Weaver were united in marriage. They lived in Greencastle and were members of the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greencastle. Raymond was an architectural engineering instructor for ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife Helen Louise Bussing of Greencastle; two brothers, Thomas Leo Bussing of House Springs, Mo. and David Jon Bussing of Brazil; two sisters, Joan Patricia Bussing of House Springs and Margaret Mary Dome of Wilmington, Ill.; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Jean Bussing of Ft. Myers, Fla., Marilyn Kay Bussing of Brazil and Veda Elaine Bussing of Brazil; and six nieces, three nephews, five great-nieces and twelve great-nephews.

Preceding him in death were parents, Raymond and Marjorie Bussing; two brothers, Bernard Vincent Bussing and Richard William Bussing; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Mary Bussing and Judith Ann Bussing; one brother-in-law, Ray Harold Dome; and one nephew, Kevin Thomas Bussing.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at noon at Annunciation B.V.M. with Father Michael Fritsch officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Calling will be Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at French Funeral Home with Rosary at 11 a.m.
