A proposed plea agreement may lead to the dismissal of three felony child molesting charges against a Fillmore man.

William R. Honey, 31, has agreed to enter a guilty plea to a Class D felony charge of neglect of a dependent in exchange for the dismissal of a Class A felony charge of child molesting and two Class C felony charges of child molesting. Putnam County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Headley has taken the plea agreement under advisement, and sentencing in the matter has been set for July 9.

The original charges against Honey carried a maximum prison sentence of more than 70 years. A Class D felony is punishable by up to three years.

Honey was arrested on Feb. 25, 2008. Court documents allege that he inappropriately touched a child on several occasions between the spring of 2003 and February 2008.

Honey initially pled not guilty to all charges. He was released from jail after posting 10 percent of a $20,000 bond plus $20,000 surety.
