Local resident wins trip to finals of American Idol

Local Greencastle resident Courtney Walker and her seven-year-old daughter Gracie Heck are heading to Los Angeles and the final competition on American Idol.

Walker found out Tuesday night her name had been drawn out of a huge number of entries correctly answering five Idol trivia questions sponsored by Fox 59.

The two will fly to Los Angeles on May 20 and come back on May 21. While there they will met with Idol host Ryan Seacrest and Idol contestant Ace Young from season five.

"I wouldn't be surprised if we got to meet all of them," said Walker who is planning on gathering lots of photos and autographs.

Walker is not telling her daughter about the trip until closer to the time to leave.

"She loves Adam and is always saying she wants to met him. Now she may get a chance," said Walker.

Both mother and daughter are fans of Adam Lambert, one of the final contestants. As far as Walker knows she and her daughter are the only winners from Indiana.

"We're really hoping to meet Adam; my daughter will be thrilled," added Walker.
