Cloverdale School Board accepts Brookshire's resignation

Monday, May 11, 2009

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale Middle School principal Jeff Brookshire has resigned from his position. During the regular school board meeting Monday night, board members voted 6 to 1 for all personnel changes including Brookshire's resignation.

In March, it was confirmed by Superintendent Carrie Milner Brookshire had been placed on administrative leave. Milner declined to give the Banner Graphic any more details on the situation other than it was "not related to any criminal allegations."

Since Brookshire's leave of absence, high school principal Sonny Stoltz has assumed principal duties at CMS on an interim basis.

For the complete story, read Banner Graphic's Wednesday edition.

  • Mr.Brookshire wasn't resigning due to a better job,to spend more time w/the family, ect., he resigned during a time AFTER he was placed on administrative leave.Mrs.Milner said more info was forthcoming after an "investigation". Those in the know, know that investigation only included herself. She refused ALL request for information, refused ALL opportunities to talk to several media outlets and the school board was kept out of the loop on the matter. The Board has turned into a classic case of "the tail wagging the dog"They are afraid of the Superintendent and have forgotten that SHE works FOR them. There is tons of info that is VERY VERY newsworthy that the Banner hasnt been able to get due to the silence ordered....it seems as if the fact that taxpayers deserve to know what went on in that building(CMS) and definately needs to know whats been happening in the Corp.office for years, has been lost.Hopefully next election or two,the board has elected people that ,1.care about the children, their education and their environment.2.remember that the SUPT.works for them and that they have to stand behind what they do,and 3rd that can look in the mirror w/a clear concience.Shame on the board and a double shame on that stellar investigative team.....

  • I think the school system has had a dark cloud hovering over it for a long time. I also think there should be an investigation into the superindent and "what has been going on in the Corporation office for years," and if found true - a call for her resignation as well.

Where does Cloverdale rank in the state ?

  • OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM NEEDS CLEANED OUT...

IT IS SO OVERDUE....LIKE MANY OTHER SCHOOLS AROUND US....

WE THE PEOPLE PAY THE TAXES AND ALSO VOTE SO WE HAVE THE UPPER HAND...

WE NEED TO QUIT VOTING THESE FOLKS IN...

WE SHOULD GET SOMEONE OUT OF OUR AREA TO COME IN AND SEE FOR THEMSELVES HOW THESE PEOPLE CONTINUE TO MAKE HAVIC IN OUR SCHOOL...

THEY ARE NOT DOING THE JOBS....

THEREFORE THEY SHOULD NOT BE PAID.....

WE SHOULD ALL DEMAND THAT THEY HAVE AN INVESTIGATION ON ALL EMPLOYEES ON THE SCHOOL BOARDS AND SUPT. OFFICES...

IT IS PAST SPRING AND CLEANING NEEDS DONE....
