Cancer center hosts quilt raffle

Monday, May 18, 2009

The Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center is holding a quilt raffle from now until May 31.

The hand-made, queen-size quilt, which was donated by an anonymous donor, is on display in the hospital gift shop.

"It's wonderful to have area residents who want to contribute to the success of our local Cancer Center," stated Linda Mann, R.N., OCN Manager.

Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six and are available in the gift shop or on the second floor in the cancer center.

The drawing will be held at 1 p.m. June 1 in the oncology department at the Putnam County Hospital.

All proceeds will benefit the Putnam County Community Foundation Cancer Center Endowment Matching Fund. The funds will be matched dollar for dollar by the Putnam County Community Foundation.

"We are very blessed to have support from the foundation," Mann said.

The money raised from the raffle will be used to guarantee the future operation of the Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center.
