He was born in Bay City, Mich. on March 22, 1938, the son of William Leslie Eaton Sr. and Julia McPherson Eaton.
Mr. Eaton was the retired owner of Eaton Auto Sales in Terre Haute, and a former Singer Sewing Machine repairman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter Leslie Ann Eaton.
Survivors include his wife Darlene Gilliam Eaton of Sullivan; three sons, Todd W. Eaton and wife Terri of Sullivan, Scott M. Eaton and wife April of Lawrenceville, Ill. and Eric L. Eaton and Kristie of Terre Haute; two daughters, Dea Ann O'Dell and husband Sid of Hutsonville, Ill. and Darby Jo Eaton and companion Steve Harris of Terre Haute; three stepsons, Larry Gilliam and wife Debbie of Belle Union, Doug Gilliam and wife Angie of Auburn and Brad Gilliam and wife Tammy of Plainfield; two stepdaughters, Penny Kowalski and husband Ken of Springfield, Ore. and Kristi Clark and husband David of Spencer; one brother, John C. Eaton and wife Pat of Sellersburg; four grandchildren, Erica, Taylor Jo, Nicholas and Aidan Eaton; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in New Lebanon. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. today at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan.
