Tiger Cubs trounce North Vermillion

CAYUGA -- All it took was five innings and the Greencastle High School baseball team was heading home Thursday.

The Tiger Cubs pummeled North Vermillion 15-4 with Tanner Battin going the distance. He allowed four runs on five hits, while retiring six batters.

Pat Richardson, who went 3-for-4 with a single, a double, a home run and two RBIs, led Greencastle's offense. Keegan Remsburg went 2-for-3 on the evening with a single, a double and two RBIs while Kyle Nobles went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Trey Ford capped of the Tiger Cubs hit parade, going 2-for-4 on the evening with two RBIs while Justin Bartrum stole three bases after getting walked twice and hit once.

Greencastle is back in action on Saturday when it takes on the winner of the North Putnam and South Putnam game in the county championship following immediately after the first game.
