Eagles capture county crown

The South Putnam Eagles capped a perfect 19-0 season by winning the Putnam County Championship Thursday. The Eagles beat Cloverdale 4-0 to get the win.

Brooke Boetjer picked up the win, allowing three hits while logging 10 strikeouts.

Boetjer, Sarah Burnham and Katelyn Sibbitt all went 2-for-3, with Boetjer scoring two runs. Sibbitt led the team in RBIs, collecting two on the night.

Up next will be the first game of the Tri-West Sectional Monday at 2 p.m. against Cascade.
