Jennifer Bedwell, community relations at Putnam County Hospital, left, and Ken Heeke, vice president of First National Bank, right, presented two third-grade students, Rose White and Jake Bennett, with $25 each for winning the PCH art contest. The contest was held in conjunction with a recent tour the third-grade students took of PCH.

Third-grade students from Tzouanakis Intermediate School recently visited Putnam County Hospital as part of their studies on the community.

While at PCH, the children toured the emergency room, laboratory, radiology, the Family Life Center (also known as the OB/nursery ward), the surgery center and physical therapy.

Following the visit, each student was given paper with "My Trip to Putnam County Hospital" as the title and asked to draw their favorite part of the PCH tour.

After completing the assignment, PCH selected two of the pictures to be winners of $25 donated by First National Bank. Recipients of the $25 were Rose White from Mrs. Ramsey's classroom and Jake Bennett from Mrs. Stockton's class. The students received their award Thursday from Jennifer Bedwell, community relations for PCH, and Ken Heeke, vice president of First National Bank.
